  6.     Never spend hours reinstalling Windows 95 again.  Rescue 95 
  7. restores Windows 95 in less than 2 minutes.  If for some reason, Windows 95 
  8. will not start correctly, run Rescue 95 to fix all of the problems.  If you can not 
  9. get into Windows 95, there is a DOS version of Rescue 95 that will do all of 
  10. the repairing from outside of Windows 95.  As an added precaution you can 
  11. use Rescue 95 to periodically make extra backups of Windows 95.

  13. Overview

  16. 1.  Rescue 95 can restore Windows 95 to three configurations: the previously 
  17. loaded configuration, the last saved configuration (this is of course if you have
  18. used Rescue 95 to save the configuration), and the original configuration (this 
  19. starts out by putting all the executable files in the startup menu, validating your
  20. time zone, etc).
  21. 2.  Rescue 95 makes a special backup copy of Windows 95, just in case
  22. normal backup procedures fail.
  23. 3.  Rescue 95 can prompt you regularly (monthly, weekly, daily) to back up 
  24. Windows 95.
  25. 4.  Rescue 95 installs an emergency MS DOS program in the root directory 
  26. (usually C:\) just in case Windows will not install.  Run "rescue.exe" from 
  27. the root directory DOS prompt.

  30. Rescue 95 Setup

  33.     To setup, unzip the zip file (rescue95.zip) and run "setup.exe".
  34. This will install all neccessary files and put four program icons (rescue95, 
  35. Help, Setup, and Read Me) in a program group window.  When you need
  36. to restore Windows 95, run "rescue95.exe".
